The Ada County Sheriff’s Office announced on April 7 that deputies and Special Victims Unit detectives arrested Kayden Peterson, age 29, on several felony charges related to minors. Peterson was taken into custody at approximately 4:30 p.m. under an active arrest warrant for sexual battery of a minor child sixteen or seventeen years of age, sexual abuse of a child under the age of sixteen years, and two counts of lewd conduct with a minor under sixteen. He was booked into the Ada County Jail.

Peterson worked as a bus driver for a contracted provider serving the Boise School District. Authorities said that his prior personal connection to the victim was not related to his employment.

Due to the sensitive nature of this case, law enforcement is withholding further details at this time. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office has asked anyone with additional information about Peterson or the case to contact Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790 or email [email protected].

The agency acknowledged cooperation from the Boise School District during their investigation. “Their partnership helped support deputies’ efforts to promptly and safely make the arrest,” according to officials. The Boise School District reported that they immediately notified Durham School Services that Peterson is no longer permitted to work under their contract.
