Ava Anderson and Addison Wolden became the winningest pair in Boise State history with their 30th victory as a duo during the Death Volley Invitational, according to a March 21 announcement. The Broncos faced tough competition in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, taking on three ranked opponents and finishing the event with four losses, including three close 3-2 defeats.
The achievement by Anderson and Wolden marks a new milestone for the program, surpassing the previous record of 29 wins held by Sharli O’Neil and current Bronco Elli Wolthuis. Their performance highlights both individual and team progress despite challenging matchups throughout the weekend.
Boise State’s matches included a narrow loss to No. 9 California, where Avery Allen and Keira Demirjian secured a win on court three, while Allyson Alden and Serena van der Made earned another point on court two. Against Georgia State, Moss and Wolthuis claimed victory on court four after dropping the opening match, but Georgia State ultimately clinched the dual. The Broncos also fell to No. 6 Florida State in another tight contest; Allen and Demirjian again contributed with a straight-set win before Anderson and Wolden closed out their match with a comeback victory.
In their final matchup against LSU, Allen and Demirjian earned Boise State’s only point via forfeit on court three as LSU secured early wins across other courts. Notably, Allen and Demirjian finished undefeated over the weekend at the No. 3 spot with a perfect 4-0 record.
Individually, Anderson moved into third place in program history for career victories with 71 wins—tied with Sierra Land—and now trails only Rorianna Chartier (74) and Emilia Guerra-Acuna (84). Allen also reached fourth place for career victories on court three.
Looking ahead, Boise State will compete in its first Big 12 event at the Big 12 Preview scheduled for March 27-28 in Fort Worth, Texas.
