Boise State announced on May 7 that its men’s basketball team will face Nebraska in a nonconference, neutral-site game during the upcoming 2026-27 regular season. The matchup is scheduled for Nov. 15 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The announcement highlights Boise State’s focus on scheduling strong nonconference opponents. Head coach Leon Rice said, “The respect and admiration I have for coach Hoiberg and the Nebraska program is endless, and we are incredibly excited to play the Cornhuskers in Sioux Falls in November.” Rice added, “We find great value in scheduling quality nonconference opponents year-over-year, and we look forward to playing a team that’s fresh off an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance. We greatly appreciate the hospitality of Sanford Pentagon and we can’t wait to compete in a first-class venue in front of Bronco Nation.”
This will be only the second meeting between Boise State and Nebraska men’s basketball programs. Their previous encounter was during the semifinal round of the inaugural College Basketball Crown in April 2025, where Nebraska defeated Boise State by a score of 79-69.
Since 1982, Boise State has played twelve games against nine Big Ten schools. In their most recent season, they faced USC at the Maui Invitational but lost narrowly by one possession.
The upcoming season marks Boise State’s first as a member of the Pac-12 Conference; they are set to officially join on July 1.
