Boise State Beach Volleyball finished the Boise State Beach Classic undefeated after securing two victories on April 4. The Broncos defeated UTEP 5-0 and CSUN 4-1, extending their home winning streak to 24 matches.
The team’s performance is significant as it marks the fifth-longest active home winning streak in collegiate beach volleyball. Boise State’s continued success at home highlights the program’s consistency and growth since the streak began in 2020.
Avery Allen and Keira Demirjian contributed with a dominant straight-set win against UTEP, while Addison Moss and Elli Wolthuis rallied from behind to claim another point for the Broncos. Allyson Alden and Serena van der Made secured a win from the top position, helping achieve a sweep against UTEP. The momentum carried into their match with CSUN, where Moss and Wolthuis again delivered an early point, followed by Allen and Demirjian’s victory in straight sets. Anderson and Wolden clinched the overall win before Alden and van der Made won a close match at the top spot.
Several individual milestones were reached during the weekend. Ava Anderson (76) and Elli Wolthuis (75) joined Emilia Guerra-Acuña as players with more than 75 career wins in program history. Addison Wolden moved up to sixth place all-time for career victories, while Lily Patock tied for fourth-most wins from court five.
Head coach Alex Venardos said, “I thought both teams made us uncomfortable in different ways. From top to bottom they put us in difficult situations serving. Our girls battled through and made some really good adjustments. We learned some really good lessons.” He also said, “Multiple people came up to me during the day and told us we have the best fans in collegiate beach volleyball. I thought every element of our atmosphere was just electric. It gives our team no excuses to play with a lot of joy and leave it all out there.”
Looking ahead, Boise State will host its next event—the Boise State Beach Bash—beginning Friday, April 10.
