Boise State beach volleyball finished its regular season with a perfect 4-0 record at the Alki Invitational, including two wins over nationally ranked teams, according to an April 18 announcement.

The results mark a milestone for the Broncos, who now have four ranked victories this season—matching their total number of ranked wins from all previous years combined. The team defeated No. 15 Florida Atlantic and No. 19 Washington on Saturday, after dispatching Oregon and Portland on Friday.

Avery Allen and Ava Anderson contributed crucial points throughout the weekend, with Anderson tying Emilia Guerra-Acuna for most career wins in program history at 84. Elli Wolthuis became just the third Bronco to surpass 80 career victories, ending the weekend with 81. “We had a big talk Thursday night about how there is still a ton of runway left in the season. When we lost last weekend and lost our ranking, it took a lot of wind out of our sails. We kept our heads down and focused on what we do right. Everyone bought into that,” head coach Alex Venardos said.

The Broncos notched two ranked wins in one weekend for only the second time ever—both occurring this year—and maintained their undefeated all-time records against Oregon (21-0) and Portland (7-0). Their win over Washington was their first since March 2019, while their victory against Florida Atlantic was a program first.

Several individual milestones were reached: Wolden ended with her fourth-most career victories in school history; Lily Patock surpassed seventy career wins; Allen remained unbeaten from court two; Moss and Wolthuis set a new record as a pair from court four; Ellena and Patock tied for fifth-most pair victories from court five.

Venardos said, “Playing in the Big 12 has set the bar really high for our team. We have a new goal that we strive towards each day. We want to leave our mark for this first year in the conference and we can’t wait to leave it all out there next week.” The Broncos will next compete at the Big 12 Championship in Tucson on April 23-24.
