Boise State Beach Volleyball moved up to No. 19 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Collegiate Beach Poll, according to an April 7 announcement.
This ranking marks the second week in a row that the Broncos have appeared in the weekly poll. Last week’s appearance was the first time Boise State had been ranked in program history.
The team is coming off an undefeated home weekend at the Boise State Beach Classic, where it defeated Oregon, Santa Clara, UTEP and CSUN. The Broncos currently hold a 24-dual home winning streak, which is reported as the fifth-longest active streak nationally.
In their first season competing in the Big 12 Conference, Boise State has faced a challenging schedule. All six conference members are currently ranked in the AVCA poll: Florida State at No. 5, TCU at No. 8, Arizona State at No. 13, South Carolina at No. 18 and Arizona at No. 20 alongside Boise State’s own ranking of No. 19. Ten of Boise State’s eleven losses this season have come against ranked opponents.
The Broncos will play their final home matches of the season this weekend during the Boise State Beach Bash, hosting South Florida and Florida International on Friday before taking on Grand Canyon (ranked No.11) and Washington on Saturday.
