Boise State defeated Colorado State 13-2 in six innings on Mar. 27, led by Hollie Farmer’s career-high five runs batted in.
The win puts the Broncos at a .500 record for the season and advances their standing in the Mountain West Conference. The victory was secured after Boise State broke a tie with a six-run third inning, all scored with two outs.
Farmer singled home two runs to give Boise State a lead they would not relinquish. An error by Colorado State allowed two more runs to score, followed by fielder’s choices that added another pair of runs, making it an 8-2 game. In the sixth inning, Farmer hit a double to drive in two more runs before Chloe Hughes contributed with a two-run single and Skylar Stroh finished off the rally with an RBI-double.
Loula-Rae McNamara earned her seventh win of the season by pitching nearly three innings of relief without allowing any hits or runs and striking out three batters. According to game notes, Stroh raised her team-leading RBI total to 32 while McNamara picked up her third win alongside two saves over her last five outings.
The series between Boise State and Colorado State will continue Saturday afternoon.
