Boise State women’s basketball will conclude its Mountain West regular season against UNLV in Las Vegas on March 4 at 7:30 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast via the Mountain West Network and 670 KBOI AM.

The outcome of this matchup is significant for both teams. Boise State and UNLV, along with Colorado State, are currently tied for second place in the conference. The winner between the Broncos and Lady Rebels will secure the second seed in the upcoming Mountain West tournament.

Boise State stands out nationally with four active players—Natalie Pasco (1,530 points), Tatum Thompson (1,219), Bayes (1,182), and Hansen (1,032)—who have each scored all their career points at Boise State.

UNLV enters the contest with a 19-10 overall record and a 14-5 mark in conference play. The Lady Rebels lead the Mountain West in defensive rebounds per game (28.0) and rank ninth nationally for fewest fouls per game (12.7). Meadow Roland leads the conference in several categories including blocks (51), double doubles (13), minutes per game (33.9), and defensive rebounds per game (7.7). Aaliyah Alexander tops the league in free throw percentage at 84.7%, while Shelbee Brown leads in total rebounds (281) and rebounds per game (9.7). UNLV has won its last ten meetings with Boise State, holding a 20-12 advantage in their all-time series.

Head coach Gordy Presnell has achieved 160 career Mountain West wins, making him first all-time among league coaches; Colorado State’s Ryun Williams follows closely behind with 159 wins.

Presnell also holds 21 Mountain West tournament victories, ranking second only to New Mexico’s Don Flanagan who has 22.

All five starters—Bayes, Hansen, Hutton, Pasco, and Tatum Thompson—have surpassed 200 points this season for Boise State. They were also the first team in the conference to have five players reach both the 100-point and 150-point marks during this campaign.

This season marked Boise State’s first time since 2018-19 achieving at least fourteen conference wins; it is only Presnell’s second time reaching that mark since joining Boise State.

The Broncos’ twenty-third win of the season is their first such achievement since collecting twenty-nine victories in 2019-20 under Presnell’s leadership; it is also their seventh overall twenty-plus-win season under him.

Boise State has consistently outscored opponents in third quarters by a margin of 595 to 469 over this season.

When outrebounding opponents, Boise State holds a strong record of seventeen wins to one loss.

A Bronco player was leading scorer in twenty-two out of thirty games played so far; Tatum Thompson led eight times followed by Pasco with five, Bayes with four, Hutton with four, and Hansen once.

Coach Presnell ranks eighteenth all-time among NCAA Division I women’s basketball coaches with seven hundred ninety-two career victories and is fourth among active Division I head coaches.

From beyond the arc, Boise State has made thirty-nine point two percent of its three-point attempts—a figure that leads the Mountain West Conference and ranks second nationally behind UConn’s thirty-nine point four percent accuracy rate from long distance.

Pasco leads both her team and conference from three-point range: she has made seventy-five three-pointers this season at a forty-four point nine percent clip—tenth-best nationally—and averages two point five threes per game within conference play.

Tatum Thompson tops individual field goal percentage rankings within the Mountain West at forty-eight point one percent; as a team, Boise State shoots forty-seven point four percent from the field overall.

Hansen leads the conference with one hundred thirty-four assists for an average of four point five assists per game; collectively as a team they average sixteen point three assists—the best mark in their league.

The Broncos’ scoring offense averages seventy point nine points per contest—highest within their conference peers.

Bayes posted a single-game three-point shooting performance against UC Davis where she shot seventy-seven point eight percent (seven-of-nine); this achievement ties for second-best single-game percentage in program history while standing twelfth-highest nationally this year—and second-best within Mountain West single-game records this season.

With two hundred nine career three-pointers made thus far Bayes now sits fourth all-time at Boise State trailing teammate Pasco who holds second place with two hundred seventy made threes.

Boise State concluded its home schedule by recording fifteen wins inside ExtraMile Arena—their most home victories since 2007-08—and have started each of their past three seasons unbeaten through seven home games while extending to eight straight for two consecutive years.

They earned six road wins after defeating San Jose State—a feat last accomplished during their twenty-nineteen-twenty campaign.

Their recent nine-game win streak ended February eleventh against Fresno State but remains notable as their longest such run since joining Mountain West play.

Individual milestones include Bayes and Tatum Thompson surpassing one thousand career points against Grand Canyon on January third—with Thompson also reaching five hundred career rebounds—and Hansen notching her own thousandth point versus New Mexico on February seventh.

Twelve different Broncos contributed to scoring against Wyoming on January fourteenth—the highest number of unique scorers for them this year—while bench production peaked at thirty-seven points that same game.

Boise State maintains an ongoing streak of twenty-two nonconference home wins at ExtraMile Arena which currently ranks fourteenth nationwide.
Preseason honors saw Tatum Thompson named as Mountain West Preseason Player of Year while Natalie Pasco joined her on preseason All-Conference team.
