Boise State lost its Mountain West Conference softball series opener to New Mexico by a score of 6-1 on April 2.
The game saw the Broncos limited to seven hits, with three coming in the final inning. The Lobos took an early lead by scoring twice in the first inning and maintained control throughout the game.
Boise State’s only run came in the seventh inning when Marissa Gonzalez hit a double and later scored on a single from Mya Flindt. Gonzalez finished the game going 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, while Flindt went 1-for-3 with one run batted in.
The Broncos now hold an overall record of 18 wins and 21 losses, including a conference record of four wins and six losses. New Mexico improved to a similar conference mark with their victory.
The two teams are scheduled to meet again for another matchup at 6 p.m. on Friday.
