Boise State’s women’s softball team lost 11-2 to No. 15 Arizona at the DeMarini Invitational on Thursday. The game, held at West Valley College because Stanford’s field was unplayable, saw Arizona take an early lead by scoring once in the first inning and six times in the second.
The Broncos briefly led after scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Their first run came after four consecutive walks, with Skylar Stroh drawing the final walk. Hollie Farmer then hit an infield single, putting Boise State ahead 2-1 before Arizona regained control.
The matchup experienced two rain delays that totaled 76 minutes. With this result, Boise State is now 1-1 against Top 15 teams for the season.
Skylar Stroh added her ninth RBI of the year, which leads the team. Olivia Bauer provided relief pitching for Boise State, throwing 2 and 1/3 innings without allowing a run.
Boise State will next play at Santa Clara on Friday at 11 a.m. PT/noon MT.
