Boise State gymnastics matched its season-high score of 196.275 to secure a comeback victory over Southern Utah (195.850) on Senior Night at ExtraMile Arena, according to a March 13 announcement.
The meet was significant as it marked the final home appearance for several seniors and saw five Broncos share event titles. Sophomore Noelle Ball and junior Mahleea Werline tied for the bars crown with scores of 9.900, while senior Sydney Kho, sophomore Kristina Shchennikova, and freshman Sydnie Whipple each earned a share of the beam title with scores of 9.850.
The Broncos began the competition with a vault score of 48.775, led by freshman Isabella Delarosa’s career-best 9.825 for second place. The team then posted a season-high 49.150 on bars—its fourth consecutive meet achieving a season-best in that event—with Ball and Werline both earning their first individual titles by tying for first place at 9.900.
On beam, Boise State tallied a strong 49.100, with Kho, Shchennikova, and Whipple sharing the event title at 9.850 each. Entering the final rotation trailing by 0.375 points, Boise State rallied on floor exercise with an elite performance totaling 49.250 points; Shchennikova scored a career-high 9.900 while Delaney Reeves also set a personal best at 9.875.
The night included recognition for seniors Anna Ferguson, Kylee Hamby, Sydney Kho, Sydney Leitch, Brantley Lucas, fifth-year Blake Pascal, and student manager Payton Hollinger after the meet.
Under head coach Tina Bird, Boise State improved its all-time record against Southern Utah to 52-32 overall and holds a dominant home record of 29-5 against them.
Looking ahead, Boise State will close out its regular season at No.10 Stanford in a dual meet scheduled for Sunday, March 15.
