Katia Guerra, an assistant professor of information technology management at Boise State University, has been named co-chair of the Idaho chapter of the Italian Scientists & Scholars in North America Foundation (ISSNAF).

ISSNAF is a nonprofit organization that brings together over 3,000 Italian scholars, researchers, and technologists based in North America. The foundation’s mission is to encourage collaboration, recognize innovation, and celebrate Italian heritage within the global academic community.

Guerra was born in Italy and received her Bachelor of Law from the University of Pisa. She then earned a Master of Law at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. After working as a qualified lawyer for ten years in Milan, she moved to the United States to pursue a Ph.D. in Business Computer Information Systems at the University of North Texas. Guerra joined Boise State as a faculty member in 2022 and focuses on teaching information security, IT management, and business intelligence.

“I am honored to serve as co-chair for ISSNAF’s Idaho chapter,” said Guerra. “I look forward to fostering connections among Italian professionals and supporting collaborative research initiatives.”
