Boise State University announced on Mar. 9 that it will celebrate 15 years of service as a U.S. Passport Acceptance Facility with a series of events throughout April.

The university’s Center for Global Engagement has provided passport services since 2011, helping students, faculty, staff, and the wider Boise community obtain travel documents for international trips. Over this period, the Global Learning office has awarded about $425,000 in scholarships funded by passport acceptance services to support students pursuing study abroad and international education opportunities.

To mark the anniversary, Boise State will host “Passport Saturdays” every Saturday in April 2026, offering weekend access to passport services aimed at accommodating busy families and working professionals. In addition, a special event on Friday, April 18 will provide complimentary passport photos for all applicants.

“Our April celebration reflects our ongoing commitment to providing accessible, convenient passport services to everyone in our community,” said Passport Program Manager Ami Tain.

Boise State’s facility processes first-time applications, renewals for damaged or lost passports, and applications for minors. The service is open to all applicants regardless of their affiliation with the university and is part of broader outreach efforts supporting travel needs ranging from study abroad programs to family vacations and business trips.

Appointments can be scheduled online through the Center for Global Engagement.
