Boise State men’s basketball announced on Apr. 16 that it has signed forward Jerquarius Stanback to its roster.
Stanback comes to the Broncos after playing two seasons at Alabama State, where he started all 32 games in the most recent season. He averaged 8.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and two blocks per game while shooting over 52 percent from the field.
Last season, Stanback was one of only six players nationwide—and the only player in the Southwest Athletic Conference—to average at least eight points, five rebounds, one steal, and two blocks per game. He led his conference with a total of 65 blocks and collected 34 steals during the season. His performance earned him recognition as the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season.
Before his college career, Stanback played high school basketball at Asheboro High School in North Carolina. There he received back-to-back player of the year honors and was named District Player of the Year while averaging impressive statistics throughout his prep career.
The addition of Stanback is expected to strengthen Boise State’s defensive presence as they prepare for upcoming seasons.
