Boise State men’s golf finished in a tie for seventh place with Navy at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, shooting a collective 858 (+18), according to a March 10 announcement.
The result places Boise State with a tournament record of 7-6-1 in the 15-team field. Over seven events in the current season, the Broncos have compiled an overall record of 66-37-3.
Cole Rueck led Boise State by carding a total score of 208 (-2) across three rounds. Rueck’s final round score of 67 tied for the lowest among all participants and secured him a three-way tie for eighth place individually. This marks Rueck’s sixth top-10 finish this season and his sixteenth career top-10 placement, giving him sole possession of second place for most such finishes in program history.
Chase Gorder also contributed to the team’s performance, finishing tied for twenty-first. Gorder shot under par in each of his first two rounds—69 in both—marking the first time he has achieved back-to-back under-par scores. He concluded with a third-round score of 75.
Other notable performances included Gavyn Knight (T34, +7), Reese Knox (T46, +10), and Ryan Shepherd (75th, +34). The team will next compete at the Oregon Duck Invitational on March 23-24 at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Oregon.
The Broncos aim to build on their results as they continue through their spring schedule.
