Boise State men’s golf will participate in the Oregon Duck Invitational on March 23 and 24, with the event taking place at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Oregon. The two-day, 54-hole tournament features a field of 15 teams.

The invitational brings together programs from several conferences, including four Big Ten teams—Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, and host Oregon—as well as Cincinnati from the Big 12. Mountain West opponents Grand Canyon and San Jose State are also set to compete alongside Boise State’s rival Idaho. Gonzaga and Oregon State will join Boise State in the new Pac-12 starting with the 2026-27 season.

Boise State is familiar with this event, having included it on its spring schedule for each of the past ten years except for a cancellation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the 2016-17 season, however, Boise State has finished in the top three only twice at this tournament and has yet to post an under-par team score at Eugene Country Club—a par-71 course measuring nearly 7,000 yards.

Competition begins Monday at 9:30 a.m. Mountain Time with a shotgun start for rounds one and two played consecutively; Tuesday’s final round also starts at that time. Live scoring is available through SCOREBOARD online platforms.

In their most recent outing at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, South Carolina, Boise State tied for seventh place after shooting an overall score of +18 over two days. Senior Cole Rueck secured a top-10 finish while Chase Gorder placed inside the top-25 for his second straight event.

Head coach David Trainor is now leading his fourth season with noticeable progress each year. After ranking No.176 nationally with a record of 39-99-2 during the 2023–24 campaign, Trainor guided Boise State to improve its national standing to No.108 (88-63-3) last season and currently holds a No.120 ranking (66–36–3) through seven events this year—with five tournaments completed under par so far.

Rueck continues his strong senior campaign by placing inside the top ten six times out of seven tournaments while winning two individual titles; he was named Mountain West Golfer of the Week on February 26 following his performance at Lake Las Vegas Invitational.

The Broncos concluded their fall schedule with three top-six finishes across five tournaments—including their program’s nineteenth all-time team win—and look to build upon that momentum as they head into this week’s competition.
