Boise State men’s golf will participate in The Goodwin, a three-day, 54-hole tournament hosted by Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, starting March 25. The event features 30 teams and will be held at the par-70, 6,742-yard Stanford Golf Course.

The tournament is significant for Boise State as it marks their second competition of the week and offers an opportunity to compete against strong programs from several major conferences. Seven Mountain West teams are included in the field—more than 23 percent of all participants—giving Boise State a chance to measure itself against familiar rivals such as Colorado State, Grand Canyon, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State and San Jose State. Teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Big 12 and Big Ten will also be present.

Players will play one round each day from Thursday through Saturday with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. Mountain Time in staggered intervals every twelve minutes. Live scoring for the event is available online.

In their previous outing at the Oregon Duck Invitational on March 23-24, Boise State finished eighth overall with a team score of 879 (+27), just one stroke behind San Jose State but ahead of Iowa (Big Ten), Idaho (in-state rival) and Grand Canyon (Mountain West). This result brought their season record to seven wins and seven losses.

Head coach David Trainor is now in his fourth season leading the Broncos. Under his guidance, the team has shown steady improvement: after ranking No.176 nationally with a record of 39-99-2 during the 2023-24 season, they improved to No.108 nationally with an overall record of 88-63-3 for the following year. So far this season (2025-26), Boise State has registered a mark of 73-43-3 across eight events—including two team titles and two additional top-three finishes—and has played under par five times out of eight tournaments.

Individually, Luke Cushman achieved his best finish this season by tying for seventh place at last week’s Oregon Duck Invitational with a score of +2 over three rounds; it was his first top-ten finish this year and fourth collegiate career top ten overall. Senior Cole Rueck continues to perform strongly as well: he has placed among the top ten six times this year while finishing under par in sixteen out of twenty-four rounds played.
