Boise State men’s tennis will host Nevada and UC Irvine at the Appleton Tennis Center, with matches scheduled against the Wolf Pack on March 20 at 5 p.m. Mountain Time and the Anteaters on March 22 at 1 p.m.

The upcoming matches mark Boise State’s first home Mountain West contest of the season. The Broncos enter conference play with a record of 0-1 after a loss to Grand Canyon in February. These games are significant as they provide an opportunity for Boise State to improve its standing in both conference and non-conference play.

Nevada arrives with an overall record of 8-3, including four wins on the road, and is looking to build on last season’s conference performance. The Wolf Pack recently swept Weber State in their home opener. Historically, Boise State leads Nevada in their all-time series, though matches played in Boise are evenly split.

UC Irvine comes into the weekend riding a four-match winning streak but has yet to secure a road victory this season. The Anteaters have had success against other Mountain West teams but lost to Grand Canyon earlier in the year. This meeting will be the first between Boise State and UC Irvine in Boise since April 2018.

Several Broncos are nearing individual milestones: Stewart Aronson, Julius Seifert, and Filip Soderqvist each need two more singles victories to reach twenty wins this season, while Avery Tallakson and Lukas Velik are three wins away from that mark. In doubles play, Aronson and Soderqvist are close to achieving fifteen wins together.

Tallakson was named Mountain West Player of the Week on March 18—the first such honor for a Bronco since March 2025—while Soderqvist has twice been recognized as Mountain West Freshman of the Week this season. Carson Baker remains the only active Bronco with All-Mountain West honors from last year.

The current roster features seven returning players alongside transfers Aronson (from Clemson) and Tallakson (from New Mexico), as well as freshman Soderqvist. Boise State has won five regular season conference titles since joining round robin play in 2009 and six Mountain West tournament championships since joining that league in 2012. The program has made twenty-one NCAA tournament appearances overall, including each of the past three years.
