Boise State University announced on Mar. 11 that it is preparing for its Year Seven Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness accreditation visit by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, scheduled for April.
The upcoming visit is part of the university’s regular accreditation review cycle, with the last comprehensive review having taken place in 2019. Accreditation is important as it reflects the collective work of the university community and provides an opportunity to demonstrate Boise State’s commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and student success.
In preparation for this process, Boise State has submitted its Year Seven Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness report. The report focuses on Standard One: Student Success and Institutional Effectiveness. It outlines how the university advances its mission through strategic planning efforts such as the Blueprint for Success (2021–2028), program assessment, prioritization, budgeting, and data systems—all aimed at supporting student achievement and ongoing improvement. The report also highlights progress in student retention and graduation rates, implementation of the Strategic Enrollment and Retention Plan, faculty-led assessments of learning outcomes, and an integrated planning model that connects strategy with evidence and resource allocation.
The full Year Seven Evaluation report along with appendices are now available online. In addition to this submission, Boise State had previously submitted its Year Six Report in 2025 focusing on policies, regulations, and financial review under NWCCU’s Standard 2; those documents are also accessible online.
A peer evaluation team will be visiting campus from Wednesday, April 8 through Friday, April 10. During their visit they will hold open forums for faculty, staff, and students to participate in discussions about institutional effectiveness. Details about these forums can be found in a recent article published by the university.
