Boise State University’s School of the Arts announced on May 4 a call for proposals for the development of the Fall 2026 series at the Keith and Catherine Stein Luminary, an all-digital interactive gallery located in the Center for the Visual Arts.
The announcement is significant as it offers students, faculty, and departments an opportunity to showcase creative projects in a unique digital space. The initiative encourages engagement with art and science through interactive exhibits that can reach diverse audiences.
The Luminary team is inviting proposals that will take place throughout the Fall 2026 semester. Submissions are sought in three main categories: student exhibitions and events, structured class visits, and department or university-wide exhibitions and events. The organizers suggest looking at previous exhibits for inspiration, such as ‘Navigating the Sagebrush Sea,’ which introduced audiences to local ecosystems; a ‘Three-body problem’ exhibit created by students from Michal Kopera’s MATH 365 course; and Onramp education programs designed to connect Idaho students with major works of art through the World Museum exhibit.
Proposals must be submitted by May 22, 2026. According to Boise State University, a similar request for proposals will be issued in October 2026 for those interested in participating during spring semester of 2027.
This ongoing series aims to foster creativity within Boise State’s academic community while providing valuable opportunities for public engagement with digital arts.
