Boise State announced on April 1 that three of its gymnasts will compete as individuals at the NCAA Gymnastics Regional Championship in Corvallis, Oregon. Kristina Shchennikova and Mahleea Werline are set to compete on bars, while Sydney Kho will participate on beam during the session scheduled for Friday, April 3.

The event provides an opportunity for these athletes to showcase their skills at a national level. Live scoring will be available for free through Virtius, and fans can watch a live stream on ESPN+ with a subscription. Both links can be found on BroncoSports.com.

All three regional qualifiers were also named to the All-Mountain West Second Team in their respective events this season. Joining them in receiving conference honors were Blake Pascal (floor) and Miraya Nero (all-around). Shchennikova and Pascal are now two-time All-Mountain West honorees, while Werline, Kho, and Nero earned the recognition for the first time.

Shchennikova has had a strong season with notable performances including her first career win on bars during Boise State’s February quad meet and tying her career-best score of 9.925 at California. She is currently tied for fifth in the league with a bars NQS of 9.850 and is one of only three gymnasts in the conference to achieve scores of 9.900 or better in three different events this year.

Werline enters regionals following seven consecutive bars routines scoring above 9.825, highlighted by her career-high score of 9.900 achieved at home earlier this season—her first event title win. Her consistency matches past records held by former Broncos gymnast Emily Lopez.

Kho captured her first vault title of the year at Air Force with a score of 9.825 and has maintained high performance levels on beam throughout the season, achieving a team-high NQS of 9.845.

This season also saw Boise State set new attendance records at home meets, averaging over 2,300 spectators per event—a new program best.

Head coach Tina Bird continues her long tenure leading Boise State gymnastics into its latest postseason appearance; she has been part of all but two seasons since joining as an assistant coach in 1990.
