Boise State lost to Nevada 8-0 in a five-inning softball game on March 14.

The loss puts the Broncos at a season record of 13 wins and 16 losses, with a conference record of 1-1 in the Mountain West. The Wolf Pack improved their record to 17-10 overall and also stand at 1-1 in conference play.

During the game, Boise State was limited to four hits. Marissa Gonzalez, Sophia Romero, Kate Penberthy, and Hollie Farmer each recorded one hit for the Broncos. Nevada scored once in the second inning, twice in the fourth, and added five runs in the fifth inning to end the game early.

The two teams are scheduled to conclude their series on Sunday. First pitch is set for noon Pacific Time or 1 p.m. Mountain Time.

The outcome of this series could impact both teams’ standings within the Mountain West Conference as they continue through their seasons.
