Boise State lost to New Mexico 9-2 on April 3 after a close game that went into extra innings. The Broncos and Lobos were tied through seven innings, but a two-out error in the eighth inning allowed New Mexico to score seven runs and secure the win.
The matchup was competitive from the start. New Mexico took an early lead in the third inning, but Boise State responded with a home run by Skylar Stroh in their half of the inning. The Lobos regained a one-run advantage in the fourth, only for Boise State to tie it again when Sophia Romero singled, stole second base, and scored on an RBI single by Hollie Farmer.
