Boise State lost to UNLV 10-6 in a softball game marked by seven home runs, according to an April 18 report. The game took place on Saturday, with Boise State falling behind early before mounting a comeback attempt.
The matchup saw the Broncos trailing 6-0 before scoring five runs in the third inning. Kate Penberthy hit a three-run home run, marking her fifth homer in the last six games. Sophia Romero followed with a two-run inside-the-park home run, which was also the first of her career, bringing the score to 6-5.
UNLV responded by scoring three more runs in the fifth inning to secure their lead. Mya Flindt contributed Boise State’s final run with her third home run of the series.
Penberthy, Flindt, and Romero have combined for strong performances throughout the series, going 16-for-21 at bat with five home runs and driving in eleven runs.
The two teams are scheduled to conclude their series on Sunday with first pitch set for noon.
