Boise State pitchers led the team to a doubleheader sweep against Sacramento State, limiting their opponents to nine hits across both games on March 17.
The wins mark a strong finish to Boise State’s road trip. In the first game, Olivia Bauer and Loula-Rae McNamara combined for a five-hitter, securing a 4-1 victory. The second game saw Julianne Rose and McNamara team up for a four-hitter, resulting in a 5-1 win.
McNamara earned three-inning saves in both games without allowing a hit, bringing her season total to four saves. Quinn Southerland contributed significantly on offense by going 5-for-7 with a double, one run batted in, and two runs scored.
Freshman Loula-Rae McNamara became the first Bronco since Kelsey Broadus in March 2018 to save both ends of a doubleheader. Freshman Kaitlyn Galasso recorded the first two hits of her career by going 2-for-4, while freshman Grace Peffley doubled in game two for her first collegiate extra-base hit.
Boise State will next host Fresno State for a three-game Mountain West series from March 20 to March 22.
