Boise State University announced on Mar. 24 that its Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry will host the 79th Northwest Regional Meeting for the Snake River Section of the American Chemical Society from July 28 to July 1, 2026.

The event is important as it brings together students, staff, and faculty interested in chemical research, providing a platform for sharing new findings and networking with peers and experts.

Organizers are inviting abstracts for posters and oral presentations from interested participants. The deadline for abstract submissions is April 6, 2026. Undergraduate and graduate students at Boise State who submit an abstract will be eligible for free registration at the conference.

The meeting will feature lectures by prominent scientists, including Nobel Laureate M. Stanley Whittingham, known for his work on lithium-ion batteries, and Geraldine “Geri” Richmond, a recipient of the National Medal of Science.

This regional meeting offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with leading researchers in chemistry.
