The Boise State women’s golf team defeated the University of Idaho, 13.5-2.5, in the State of Idaho Match at Warm Springs Golf Course, according to an announcement on Apr. 2.
This match marked Boise State’s first competition in the Treasure Valley since September 2017. The Broncos swept all four alternate shot matchups and continued their success with two victories and two ties in the four-ball segment. Pairings Brooke Patterson/Jillian Hui and Macee Greenwood/Annie Buffolino secured wins for a second consecutive round.
In singles play, Leia Chung, Patterson, Teal Matsueda, Annie Buffolino, Greenwood and Jaime Hards each won their matches for Boise State. The final score reflected a strong performance across all formats.
Head coach Kailin Downs said: “Playing in adverse weather takes a strong mentality. We saw a little bit of everything today and the team handled it well.” Downs added: “This format was a lot of fun and it’s always great to come away with a team win!”
Boise State last played in the Treasure Valley during the Bronco Fall Invitational at Falcon Crest Golf Course in Kuna on Sept. 13, 2017, where they finished second with what was then a school record score.
The Broncos will finish their regular season at the Cowgirl Classic from April 7-8 at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
