Boise State University’s women’s gymnastics team is set to compete in a dual meet against No. 15 California on Saturday, March 7. The event will take place at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, California, starting at 5 p.m. Mountain Time.

Fans can follow the meet through live scoring available for free on Virtius and via a live stream on ACC Network Extra, which requires a subscription. Both links are accessible on BroncoSports.com.

California enters the competition ranked 15th nationally with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 196.539. The Golden Bears’ strongest event is the uneven bars, where they hold an NQS of 49.296—10th best in the NCAA. Freshman Tonya Paulsson ranks fourth nationally in bars NQS (9.930) and is 13th in all-around (39.375). Geralen Stack-Eaton leads California as head coach after spending over a decade as an assistant coach at Minnesota.

On March 1, Boise State posted its season-high team score of 196.275 while sweeping a quad meet at San Jose State and achieving season-best scores on vault (49.150) and floor (49.275). Julia Krzywanski earned her first career vault title with a score of 9.900, while Blake Pascal matched that mark on floor for her fifth event win.

During their rotation at San Jose State, Boise State gymnasts Anna Ferguson (9.875), Delaney Reeves (9.850), Kristina Shchennikova (9.825), and Miraya Nero (9.825) each achieved or matched personal bests on floor exercise.

The Broncos also excelled on vault during that meet: Noelle Ball posted a career-best score of 9.850; Bridget Kemp tied her career high with a 9.825; and Sydney Kho contributed with a score of 9.800.

Blake Pascal was named Mountain West Co-Floor Specialist of the Week following her performance at San Jose State—a first conference weekly honor in her five-year career.

Earlier this season, Boise State posted its top bars rotation with a score of 49.050 against Utah State on February 20, led by Mahleea Werline’s season-high routine and supported by strong performances from Carly Buell, Noelle Ball, Kristina Shchennikova, and Kylee Hamby.

At the Metroplex Challenge on February 15, Boise State had its best beam rotation this year with Miraya Nero and Kristina Shchennikova both posting career-high scores of 9.900—the first time multiple Broncos have reached or exceeded that mark since the Mountain West Championships last year.

After their Metroplex Challenge performances, Miraya Nero was named both Mountain West Co-Beam Specialist of the Week and Co-Freshman of the Week—her third such award this season—while Shchennikova collected her ninth weekly conference honor overall.

Miraya Nero has been recognized several times for her all-around contributions this year—including two all-around titles—and recorded Boise State’s highest all-around score since Hope Masiado’s performance in 2021.

Kristina Shchennikova secured her first bars title earlier this season and remains the only current Bronco gymnast to have won event titles across multiple apparatuses during her college career.

Local freshmen Isabella Delarosa and Sydnie Whipple have contributed early to their hometown team’s efforts; Delarosa captured an event title on beam in January while Whipple earned notable scores as well.

Senior Sydney Kho notched her second career vault title at Air Force earlier this year and continues to be one of the most consistent contributors for Boise State’s vault lineup since joining the program.

The Broncos set an attendance record during their home opener January 30 with nearly three thousand spectators—a figure that puts them ahead of last year’s average home attendance record for women’s gymnastics meets at Boise State.

Boise State claimed both regular-season conference honors last year after winning the inaugural Mountain West Championships in women’s gymnastics; they led league rankings across multiple events including bars, beam, and floor exercise throughout last season.

Head coach Tina Bird leads Boise State into her nineteenth season as head coach—and thirty-sixth overall affiliated with the program—having guided teams to numerous NCAA Regional appearances along with fifteen conference titles during her tenure.

Returning All-Mountain West selections include Kristina Shchennikova—the reigning co-freshman honoree—as well as All-MW floor performers Blake Pascal and Bridget Kemp.
