The Boise State women’s tennis team defeated Nevada 4-0 on March 27, earning its 12th consecutive victory at the Appleton Tennis Center.

This win continues a strong season for the Broncos, who have now opened conference play with a perfect 5-0 record for the first time since the 2017-18 season. The team’s current streak includes seven sweeps out of their last twelve dual matches and extends their unbeaten run against Mountain West opponents to fourteen matches, which is their longest since joining the conference in 2011.

In doubles play, Tereza Polakova and Zdena Safarova claimed a quick victory over Marlene Foerster and Silvia Maria Costache. Stella Beldiman and Paula Schaefer then secured the doubles point for Boise State by defeating Amahee Charrier and Petra Janigova. In singles action, Allison Isaacs notched her ninth consecutive win at No. 4 singles to give Boise State an early lead, followed by Masa Viriant’s straight-set victory that put the Broncos one point away from clinching. Safarova sealed the match at No. 1 singles after coming back from a deficit in her second set.

Head coach Beck Roghaar said, “Nevada is a really good team, so for us to get out to a good start was a necessity. That win builds our confidence, but we have another great team coming in on Sunday. Over the next 24 hours we’ll get back to work and do the things that we need to do to come out and play well again against UNLV.”

The Broncos’ recent performance has included notable individual achievements: Safarova recorded her eighth consecutive win at No.1 singles—her thirty-first career singles victory—while Isaacs improved her season record to twelve wins with ten straight victories at No.4 singles.

Looking ahead, Boise State will host UNLV on March 29 at Appleton Tennis Center as both teams enter with undefeated records in Mountain West play.
