The Boise State women’s tennis team will start its Mountain West Conference schedule with two away matches, according to a March 12 announcement. The Broncos are set to face Colorado State in Fort Collins on March 13 and Wyoming in Laramie on March 15.

These matches mark the beginning of the final stretch of conference play for Boise State, which currently holds an 8-2 record. The contest against Colorado State is scheduled outdoors at 1 p.m. Mountain Time or indoors at 3 p.m., depending on weather conditions. The match against Wyoming will take place at 11 a.m.

Colorado State enters the matchup with a 4-7 record, having lost five of its last six matches. Both teams have played BYU, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, and Montana State this season; Boise State has won three out of four against these opponents while Colorado State has won one. Last year, Boise State defeated Colorado State 4-0.

Wyoming comes into its match with a 7-3 record and has won its last three contests. Historically, Wyoming leads the all-time series with ten wins to Boise State’s six, but the Broncos claimed victory in their most recent meeting in Boise last year by a score of 4-0.

Boise State is ranked No. 47 in the latest UTR Sports collegiate team rankings and No. 68 in the ITA rankings. Head coach Beck Roghaar recently became the program’s all-time winningest coach with his 182nd career victory and now has a total of 184 wins since taking over in 2011. Roghaar was named both Mountain West and ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year for the previous season.

Carla Grignac earned both Mountain West Player and Freshman of the Week honors on January 28 after her singles win against nationally ranked Washington, becoming only the third player in conference history to receive both awards simultaneously.

The Broncos are defending conference champions after winning their first tournament title since 2010 during last year’s Mountain West Tournament by defeating Fresno State, San Diego State, and UNLV.
