Boise State’s women’s soccer team announced on April 7 the addition of defender Lexi Lerwick to its 2026 roster as a transfer from Miami. Lerwick, who played club soccer for PacNW and attended Kennedy Catholic High School, brings experience from several collegiate programs.
The announcement is significant for Boise State as it strengthens the team’s defensive lineup ahead of the upcoming season. Head Coach Jim Thomas said, “I know I speak for everybody within the staff when I say how happy we are that Lexi Lerwick’s career has gone full circle to end here as a Bronco. Lexi is a player. We’ve been impressed and covered it for many years. We couldn’t be more excited to have her join us for another championship run in 2026. She is an exceptional ball distributor with an incredible personality. She is going to bolster an equipped defense and ready to act as a wonderful role model for younger and incoming Broncos.”
Lerwick arrives at Boise State with one year of NCAA eligibility remaining after appearing in 14 matches, including five starts, during her time as a redshirt junior with the Miami Hurricanes.
Before joining Miami, Lerwick started in 18 matches at Oregon and was part of a backline that achieved five shutouts during the season. She played nearly every minute available—1,601 out of a possible 1,620—for Oregon in 2024. Earlier in her college career, she spent two seasons at Washington State where she appeared in four contests before redshirting in 2023.
In high school, Lerwick scored four goals and recorded three assists while also competing as a basketball player.
Lerwick will join Sacramento State transfer Dalen Lau along with returning players Kaitlyn Slocum and Siena Zunino on what is expected to be a strong defensive unit.
