The Boise State women’s tennis team claimed a share of the Mountain West Regular Season Championship with a 4-1 win over Utah State on April 17 in Logan, Utah.

This achievement marks the first time in program history that Boise State has won the Mountain West regular season title and is its first conference regular season championship since 2011. The Broncos finished the regular season with an overall record of 18-3 and a conference record of 10-1.

In Friday’s match, Carla Grignac and Lorelyz Marruffo earned a doubles victory for Boise State, while Tereza Polakova and Zdena Safarova secured another win to clinch the doubles point. Allison Isaacs extended her winning streak at No. 4 singles to 16 matches, setting a program record for most wins at that position in a single season. Safarova added another singles victory before Polakova sealed the team’s historic title by rallying from behind to win her match on court two.

Head coach Beck Roghaar said, “It’s a great day to be a Boise State Bronco. What an incredible effort from our team to compete on the road in a tough environment and get the job done. With a title on the line, the team knew the mentality it needed to go take what it deserved. This team has continued to show up and never be afraid of the work it takes to be great and to be a champion. We know what we’re capable of, and we’re excited to go after another title in the Mountain West Tournament next week.” Roghaar also secured his second regular season title as head coach.

Boise State shares this year’s Mountain West regular season championship with San Diego State and UNLV, as all three teams finished with identical conference records of 10-1. Tournament seeding will be determined by ITA rankings announced later this weekend.

Looking ahead, Boise State will await tiebreaker results before traveling to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Tournament scheduled for April 23-25.
