The Boise State women’s tennis team defeated Fresno State 4-0 on April 4, marking its second consecutive conference road sweep.

This win is significant as it represents the Broncos’ fifth sweep in conference play since joining the Mountain West Conference in the 2011-12 season. The team has also won seven straight road matches and holds a 7-1 record on the road this season.

In doubles, Carla Grignac and Lorelyz Marruffo won decisively at No. 3 with a score of 6-0. Stella Beldiman and Paula Schaefer secured another point at No. 2 by defeating Louna Cormier and Eliza Dunbar, 6-3. In singles play, Masa Viriant started strong with a commanding victory of 6-0, 6-2 on court three. Tereza Polakova followed with a win at No. 2 singles, taking her match in straight sets as well.

Allison Isaacs clinched the match for Boise State by beating Andjela Lopicic of Fresno State, finishing with scores of 6-2, 6-3 for her thirteenth consecutive win at No. 4 singles and improving to a personal record of fifteen wins and two losses this season.

Head coach Beck Roghaar said, “Today was a gritty win. We showed up well in doubles and got off to a good start winning the point. To win on the road you have to be tough and our team was able to come through in those moments to get the jobe done. Another great win for us and another confidence builder. Excited to get back home and prepare for next week’s matches with Air Force and New Mexico.”

Looking ahead, Boise State will continue its series of away games by traveling to Colorado Springs to face Air Force on April 10.
