Boise State University senior golfer Cole Rueck has been named Mountain West Golfer of the Week, according to an announcement from the conference on Thursday. This is the first time Rueck has received this honor in his collegiate career. He becomes the eighth golfer in Boise State’s program history to earn the weekly award.
Rueck’s teammate, Luke Cushman, was the most recent Bronco to receive this recognition, having won it on April 10, 2025.
Rueck secured his second individual championship of the season and the eighth of his career during Boise State’s first spring tournament. His performance contributed to Boise State’s second team tournament victory of the 2025-26 season. Rueck finished with a score of 200 (16 under par), winning by four strokes.
At the Lake Las Vegas Invitational, where he competed for a second consecutive year, Rueck recorded scores under par each day: a 69 in the opening round, followed by a career-best 64 in round two and a 67 in the final round.
So far this season, Rueck has placed in the top ten at five out of six tournaments. Over his career, he now has fifteen top-ten finishes, tying him with Troy Merritt for second-most in program history.
Boise State is scheduled to compete next at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational on March 9-10 in Aiken, South Carolina at Palmetto Golf Club.
