Congressman Mike Simpson, who has represented Idaho’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 1999, recently shared several statements on social media addressing a range of topics from sports achievements to educational policies and personal condolences.
On December 7, 2024, Congressman Simpson expressed his support for a sports team by stating: “Congratulations to the Mountain West Champions! #GoBroncos”.
Two days later, on December 9, 2024, he addressed concerns about communism in American education. He noted that “Communist influence and support should have no place in American education, yet 28% of America’s youth hold a favorable opinion of communism.” He further mentioned his support for the Crucial Communism Teaching Act as part of efforts to combat what he views as indoctrination.
Later that same day, Simpson extended his sympathies to a colleague by saying: “Kathy and I are sending our deepest condolences to @michaelcburgess and his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this extremely difficult time.”
