Congressman Mike Simpson, who represents Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing election integrity, federal investments in youth savings programs, and advancements in nuclear technology.
On April 7, 2026, Simpson wrote: “Any illegal vote cancels an American vote. The SAVE America Act is the way to secure our elections and root out fraud.”
The following day, April 8, he commented on federal initiatives for young Americans: “This Administration is investing in future generations through @TrumpAccounts – arguably my favorite provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill. Would you rather see your children protesting at ‘No Kings’ rallies with a communist flag, or teach them the beauty of capitalism, which”
Later that same day, Simpson highlighted progress at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL): “Great day for @INL! DOME gives American developers the ability to take new reactor concepts from design to demonstration at the pace the new nuclear era demands. As Idaho’s only appropriator, I was proud to secure funding to support this test bed.”
Simpson has served as Idaho’s representative since 1999 after succeeding Mike Crapo. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Idaho House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998. Born in Burley, Idaho in 1950 and currently residing in Idaho Falls, Simpson graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972.
