Congressman Mike Simpson, who represents Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on April 1 and April 2, 2026, addressing topics ranging from immigration policy to support for the Artemis II mission and U.S. foreign policy toward Iran.
On April 1, Simpson commented on immigration issues, stating: “Absolutely horrific. These illegal aliens should have NEVER been in the U.S. Radical Left policies are to blame for these tragedies.”
Later that day, he expressed support for the Artemis II space mission with a brief message: “God speed, Artemis II! “
On April 2, Simpson addressed former President Donald Trump’s actions regarding Iran: “President Trump was the only president in the past 47 years to have the courage to take decisive action against Iran. It was one of the bravest decisions any president has made to protect the safety and security of our nation. A nuclear Iran is one of the greatest threats that”
Simpson has served in Congress since 1999 after replacing Mike Crapo and previously served in the Idaho House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998. He was born in Burley, Idaho in 1950 and currently resides in Idaho Falls. Simpson graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972.
