On May 5, 2025, Congressman Simpson expressed his support for new legislation by stating, “Proud to be an original cosponsor of this critical bill! “.

The following day, on May 6, 2025, he took to Twitter to acknowledge the influence educators have had on his life. He wrote, “I’m grateful to all the teachers who shaped my passion for politics and reading as I was growing up. My grandmother, a fourth-grade teacher in Malad, set an excellent example of how one teacher can make a difference in students’ lives.” He concluded with well-wishes for Teacher Appreciation Day.

Mike Simpson was born in Burley, Idaho in 1950 and currently resides in Idaho Falls. He graduated from Utah State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
