Congressman Mike Simpson, who represents Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets in early September 2025 highlighting local sports, developments in artificial intelligence infrastructure, and federal land management policy.

On September 8, Simpson shared his support for Idaho college football teams, posting “Idaho representing! @BroncoSportsFB @VandalFootball https://t.co/BtqGdwkOiG”.

Later that day, he commented on advancements at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL), writing “Big news coming from @INL, as it is one of the four sites selected for AI infrastructure and generation projects! Thank you, @SecretaryWright and @POTUS, for your leadership in promoting American leadership in AI. INL will continue to play a critical role in the global AI race. https://t.co/iUVU6PFUwk”.

On September 10, Simpson addressed public lands policy with a post stating “Reversing the harmful Biden-era Conservation and Landscape Health Rule, which locked up millions of acres of our nation’s public lands, is long overdue. I am grateful that @POTUS & @SecretaryBurgum listened to Idahoans and those from the West who cherish the concept of multiple https://t.co/AFZjy42Tms”.

Simpson has represented Idaho’s 2nd congressional district since 1999 after serving in the Idaho House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998. Born in Burley, Idaho in 1950 and currently residing in Idaho Falls, Simpson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State University earned in 1972.
