Congressman Mike Simpson, who represents Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared updates on tax policy and healthcare initiatives through a series of posts on his official social media account.
On February 5, 2026, Simpson addressed ongoing tax reforms by stating, “Tax season is here. In addition to preventing the largest tax hike in U.S. history, @POTUS and @HouseGOP are providing real relief for American families. We locked in the doubled Standard Deduction and further boosted it to $31,500 for families. Idahoans and Americans will be”.
The following day, February 6, he posted about recent developments regarding prescription drug pricing: “https://t.co/xrgq94uL5l is here: Lower drug prices and putting American patients first. Another promise made, promise kept.”
On February 7, Simpson also expressed support for the national team with a brief message: “GO @TeamUSA!!! “
Simpson has been serving as Idaho’s representative in Congress since 1999 after previously holding office in the Idaho House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998. He was born in Burley, Idaho in 1950 and currently resides in Idaho Falls. Simpson graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972.
