Congressman Mike Simpson, who represents Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several updates on his official Twitter account regarding national celebrations and support for youth and military families.
On May 5, 2026, Simpson posted: “Revitalizing this should not be a political issue. It’s a step in the right direction to Make America’s Youth Healthy Again. Great day for grade schoolers nationwide. I’m fully supportive of this! https://t.co/IdWImDykFh”.
Two days later, on May 7, 2026, he commemorated an upcoming national milestone with another post: “Our nation’s 250th Birthday is right around the corner. To commemorate, my office flew an American flag over the United States Capitol for every county in my district. Simpson has served in Congress since 1999 after succeeding Mike Crapo and previously held office in the Idaho House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998. Born in Burley, Idaho in 1950 and currently residing in Idaho Falls at age 72, Simpson is an alumnus of Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 1972.
