Congressman Mike Simpson, currently representing Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of messages on social media recognizing Mother’s Day, National Police Week, and maternal health initiatives.

On May 10, Simpson wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there! Thank you for all you do. “

The following day, he highlighted law enforcement appreciation: “This National Police Week, I join Idahoans and Americans nationwide in expressing my gratitude to our brave law enforcement officers for their tireless work in keeping our communities safe 24/7. God bless America’s police officers. #BacktheBlue” (posted May 11).

Later on May 11, Simpson also addressed maternal and child health with a message directed at the President: “Healthy moms and healthy babies. Thank you, @POTUS!”

Simpson has represented Idaho’s 2nd District since 1999 after replacing Mike Crapo and previously served in the Idaho House of Representatives from 1984 to 1998. Born in Burley, Idaho in 1950, Simpson is now 72 years old and resides in Idaho Falls. He graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972.
