Congressman Mike Simpson, who represents Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, took to Twitter to share a series of statements regarding progress made under the Trump administration, developments in Idaho, and to honor military servicemembers. Simpson, who has been serving since 1999, emphasized various aspects of policy and appreciation on his social media platform.

On April 29, 2025, Simpson highlighted the first 100 days of the presidency by declaring, “100 DAYS: @POTUS has delivered promise after promise to make America safer, more prosperous, and stronger. From securing our southern border to reducing regulations and restoring government transparency, President Trump has followed through for the American people. “.

Later that same day, he celebrated developments in Idaho concerning nuclear technology. Simpson remarked, “Great news for Idaho! This agreement between the State of Idaho and the Trump administration to advance nuclear technology will strengthen America’s national security and support energy independence. @INL is leading the way.”

On May 1, 2025, Simpson expressed his respect and admiration for military servicemembers. He urged the public to honor military personnel, stating, “May is Military Appreciation Month. Our servicemembers and their families have sacrificed so much for our nation. I encourage everyone to take time this month to honor those who have served—and those who continue to serve—this great country. God bless our armed forces. “

Mike Simpson, who was born in Burley, Idaho, in 1950, has been a longstanding figure in Idaho’s political landscape. He has a history of service, having previously been a member of the Idaho House of Representatives and is also a graduate of Utah State University. Simpson is currently a resident of Idaho Falls.
