Eleven student-athletes from the Boise State football team were named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, the organization announced on Apr. 8. The honorees are Braxton Fely, Ben Ford, Zach Holmes, Maddux Madsen, Marco Notarainni, Chase Penry, Jake Ripp, Austin Terry, Jayden Virgin-Morgan, Luke Voorhees and Zion Washington.
The recognition highlights both athletic and academic achievements of these players. Since the Hampshire Honor Society was founded in 2007, Boise State has had 82 honorees—eighth-most among Football Bowl Subdivision programs. The teams from 2016 and 2025 each produced a program-high eleven inductees.
Among those recognized is Fely, who repeated as an All-Mountain West second team selection in 2025 and finished his career with notable defensive statistics. Ford led the team with five touchdown receptions before an injury ended his season early. Holmes started six games at center and played key roles in crucial matchups such as against Utah State and UNLV.
Other inductees include Madsen—named Mountain West Championship Offensive MVP—and Notarainni—a Campbell Trophy semifinalist with numerous academic honors. Penry contributed significantly during the final stretch of the season while earning a degree in Accountancy; Ripp played all games and is set to graduate this spring; Terry appeared in over thirty games for Boise State; Virgin-Morgan led several defensive categories; Voorhees made contributions on offense and special teams across forty-one games; Washington completed his career with over one hundred sixty tackles.
To qualify for induction into the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, student-athletes must be seniors graduating in spring or summer of 2026 or graduate students enrolled at least three years who have completed their eligibility in 2025. They must also maintain a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a four-point scale and be starters or significant contributors throughout their final season. This year saw a record total of 2,596 players from 365 institutions honored nationwide.
