Boise State track and field athletes Landon Helms and Kaiya Robertson concluded their indoor seasons at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 14 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The event is significant as it marks the first time since 2012 that both a male and female Boise State student-athlete have earned All-America honors at the same indoor national championships. This achievement highlights the continued presence of Boise State athletes at major collegiate competitions.
Robertson became the first Bronco woman to qualify for the indoor championships since 2023, and the first in the mile event since 2019. She finished 14th in the mile preliminary round with a time of 4:40.33, earning second-team All-America honors. This is her second career All-America honor after previously receiving honorable mention during the 2025 outdoor season.
Helms, who won the Mountain West heptathlon title earlier this year, also secured second-team All-America recognition by finishing 15th overall with 4,179 points. He set personal bests in several events during competition but did not record a height in pole vault and stepped off in the final event. This marks his second career All-America honor.
Head coach Pat McCurry said, “These weren’t the results we had our sights on this weekend, but I am proud of who our athletes are and the way they handled adversity with class and poise. In the bigger picture, halfway through year two with Boise State, we have the Broncos back to being a consistent presence at NCAA championship meets. That’s important, and we will keep building.”
Looking ahead, Boise State will begin its outdoor season at three meets scheduled for April 3-4: the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco, Stanford Invitational in Stanford, California, and UNLV Rebel Elite in Las Vegas.
