Landon Helms and Kaiya Robertson will represent Boise State at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on March 13-14.
Their participation marks a significant moment for the Boise State track and field program, as both athletes have achieved notable milestones leading up to the national event.
Helms is set to compete in the heptathlon, becoming the first Bronco to participate in this event at indoor nationals since Kurt Felix in 2012. Helms enters with the eighth-best mark nationally and holds the Boise State program record with 5,964 points. He aims to become the first Bronco finisher in the heptathlon at these championships since Felix placed 11th in 2011.
Robertson will race in the mile, carrying a season-best time of 4:24.51—the sixth-fastest mark in the country. She is also making history as the first female Bronco to qualify for indoor nationals since 2023 and the first to do so in the mile since Alexis Fuller finished ninth and earned second-team All-America honors in 2019. Before Fuller, no Boise State woman had competed in this event since 1996.
Both Helms and Robertson have previously earned All-America recognition; Helms was named second-team All-America while Robertson received honorable mention at last year’s NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The competition schedule lists Helms competing across seven events over two days, while Robertson will run her semifinal on Friday afternoon with hopes of advancing to Saturday’s final.
