Idaho’s higher-education community will host the Innovate Idaho 2026 — AI and Open Education Symposium, a statewide virtual event for faculty and staff to share their work with artificial intelligence and open education, according to a March 10 announcement. The symposium is scheduled for Friday, April 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will be held entirely online. Registration is required for all attendees.
The event aims to foster engagement and build community among educators, librarians, technologists, student-support professionals, and researchers from Idaho’s eight public institutions. Organizers say the symposium will feature two session formats: standard presentations lasting twenty minutes and shorter seven-minute lightning talks, both including time for questions.
A key part of the program will be a lunch panel featuring industry leaders from St. Luke’s, Micron, and First Federal Bank. These speakers are expected to discuss how artificial intelligence is influencing their industries and roles. Faculty and staff are encouraged to invite students to attend this panel as it is relevant for all audiences.
The event is supported by foundational funding from the Idaho State Board of Education and coordinated by the state’s AI Catalyst Network.
Organizers say Innovate Idaho 2026 is designed as an engaging opportunity for sharing practical strategies, creative approaches, and forward-thinking ideas related to artificial intelligence and open education.
