Senator Jim Risch, representing Idaho in the U.S. Senate, has recently addressed several topics on his official social media account, ranging from education policy to labor regulations and local sports achievements.
On March 10, 2026, Risch emphasized his stance on educational priorities by stating, “Children deserve a strong education that sets them up for success. My Say No Indoctrination Act ensures K-12 schools stick to the fundamentals and focus on teaching our students the skills they need to thrive.”
The following day, March 11, 2026, Risch criticized proposed federal workplace safety regulations regarding heat exposure. He wrote, “One-size-fits-all federal regulations harm businesses and the people they employ. Today, I sent a letter urging the Department of Labor to scrap Biden’s disastrous proposed heat rule and give local employers more options for protecting their workers.” Federal heat rules have been under discussion as part of efforts to address rising temperatures affecting outdoor workers nationwide.
On March 12, 2026, Risch turned his attention to collegiate athletics in Idaho by congratulating local teams: “Congratulations to @vandalswbb and @vandalhoops on their victories in the Big Sky Championship and securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Let’s dance, Vandals!” The University of Idaho’s basketball teams secured championship wins that led them into national tournament play.
Senator Risch has previously served as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is known for advocating state-level solutions over federal mandates.
