Senator Jim Risch, representing Idaho, posted a series of updates on February 19, 2026, highlighting his recent legislative and advocacy efforts to support small businesses and families in Idaho.
In one post, Risch stated, “I helped pass the Working Families Tax Cuts to provide much-needed tax relief to small business owners and employees across the Gem State.” The measure aims to ease financial burdens for both entrepreneurs and workers in Idaho.
On the same day, Risch addressed his efforts to improve federal support for local businesses. He wrote, “I wrote @SBA_Kelly to request that the SBA’s PNW regional office be moved from Seattle to Idaho. The Gem State is ranked as one of the best states for small businesses, so we ought to have a regional office to support them.” Idaho has been recognized nationally for its favorable environment for small business growth.
Additionally, Risch discussed his involvement with child care legislation. He posted, “I am an original cosponsor of the Small Business Child Care Investment Act to give nonprofit child care providers access to loan programs, making child care more affordable and accessible for Idahoans.” This bill seeks to expand financial resources available to nonprofit organizations providing child care services.
Jim Risch has served as a U.S. Senator from Idaho since 2009. His work often focuses on economic development initiatives within the state.
