Boise State University announced on Mar. 26 that applications are now open for the LeaderShape Institute, a four-day leadership program hosted by the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. The event will take place from May 12-15, 2026 in Cascade and is available to all undergraduate and graduate students who will continue at Boise State in the Fall 2026 semester.

The LeaderShape Institute aims to help students develop leadership skills that employers seek in recent graduates. There is no cost for participants, and need-based scholarships are available for those who may face financial hardship due to missing work.

According to organizers, more than 500 Boise State students have previously taken part in the program, which has seen over 78,000 participants internationally across more than 50 colleges since its inception. The program focuses on encouraging students to lead with integrity while pursuing visions rooted in their values.

Past attendees have described the institute as one of the most impactful experiences at Boise State for personal growth. They reported feeling more motivated within their organizations and better equipped to handle conflict, challenges, and problem-solving situations.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate students or share information about the opportunity through digital flyers or direct conversations. Nominated students receive personalized messages about applying. The priority deadline for applications is April 15; however, submissions will remain open until all spots or waitlist positions are filled.
